The former Minister for Information and Communication Mohan Bahadur Basnet has announced that he would bear the educational expenses of Nepal’s first Coronavirus Victim’s baby.
Informing the press he said that he would look after the complete expenses of the education of the child until grade 12.
Basnet has also promised 50 thousand rupees for the nutritional baby food to be given to the child, as the family is having financial crunches.
He has also guaranteed the job after the baby boy’s higher education is completed.
Leader Basnet is the central member of Nepali Congress.
The victim is from the neighboring village of leader Basnet in Sindhupalchowk district.
The victim had died at Dhulikhel hospital in Kavre on May 16, the same day she was admitted with health complications.
She had a normal child delivery earlier in Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj and returned home.
The child and other family members have been tested negative for COVID-19 on Monday.
The generous step of the former minister has been applauded from all the corners.
