13 February,2020/Musikot: A martyrs park along with a hall has been established in the capital Musikot in memories of late martyrs from Rukum West during the decade long people’s war.
A total of two crore rupees were invested from the Federal Parliament Region Development Fund, with the inauguration on Thursday, on the occasion of 25th people’s war day.
The park was jointly inaugurated by parliamentarian and NCP standing committee member Janardan Sharma ‘Prabhakar’, Basudev Gautam who had contributed in the establishment of communist party in Rukum and founder member of communist party of Rukum Dhruba Malla and Tara Prasad Gharti Magar.
“Though the process took a long period to bring the martyrs park into reality, the foundations were set up right after the peace process commenced,” said leader Janardan Sharma.
“It is built in honor of the great sons and daughters of the Nation who sacrificed their lives for the transformation which we witness today,” he further added.
The hall is situated in the premises of the martyrs park located in Sherigaun of Musikot municipality.
The names of all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in course of the people’s war has been inscribed along with war pillar.
The pictures of the martyrs have been kept in the hall.
Also, statues of founder communist leaders Kami Budha and Skanda Sharma has been also erected in the park.
More than 525 people had lost their lives in Rukum which was the base area of people’s war.
