Atleast 5 Died in Swargadwari Jeep Accident

Atleast 5 people have died in a Jeep accident in Swargadwari of Pyuthan.

The jeep which carried the pilgrims from Gulmi for a new year religious tour met with an accident in Swargadwari Municipality-3 on Wednesday morning.

There were 16 people on board the jeep including the employees of Gulmi district administration office and their family.

According to police sources, 3 died on the spot while 2 others breathed their last during treatment.

Surya Panthi the computer operator at Gulmi district administration office, Iswori Bhandari and Yamlal Panthi died on the spot.

Meanwhile, Shyam Neupane the administrative officer from Syangja aged 37 and 22 years old Keshav Karki of Musikot municipality-3 had died while receiving treatment at Bhingri health post.

Five critically injured have been rushed to Kathmandu for further treatment according to Khimraj Bhusal, the chief district officer of Pyuthan.

“Others out of danger and with minor injuries are receiving treatment in the district itself,” Bhusal informed.

The injured are Sunita Kadel aged 23 of Resunga Municipality-4, Basanti Paudel aged 29, Gita Mukhiya aged 30 of Resunga Municipality-1, Anish Bogota aged 12, Tara Bhandari aged 24 of Resunga Municipality-2,
Ashish Bhandari aged 6, Dil Bahadur Thapa aged 33, Kamala Gyawali aged 27, Sarthak Gyawali aged 12, Nikita Poudel aged 4 and Sandeep Pariyar aged 30 of Mallarani Municipality-3.

The accident occured when the jeep tried to overtake a bus at a turning and skidded off the road.
