Bharatpur Metropolis Provides Bicycles to 296 Girl Students

Bharatpur Metropolitan city has provided bicycles to 296 girl students.

Renu Dahal, mayor of Bharatpur metropolis has handed over the bicycles to economic backward girl students studying in various schools of West Chitwan.

The metropolis handed over the bicycles to 162 girl students in wards 17, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28 on Monday.

Bharatpur Metropolis had earlier distributed bicycles to 135 students of 17 schools in 13, 14, 22, 23 and 24 wards of West Chitwan.

Thus, so far, the metropolis has distributed 296 bicycles.

The metropolis plans to distribute bicycles to a total 330 female students in 12 wards in near future.

The Program comes under the previous financial year’s plan of the metropolis to provide bicycles to the financially weak girl students.

The program was earlier affected due to Coronavirus pandamic.

“Schools in the Bharatpur metropolis are being made girl-friendly and technology-friendly, and we are striving to reach our goals,” she said.

There are plans to distribute laptops to students and expand internet connections in all the schools this year, she informed.

Work is in full swing to develop the physical infrastructure of government schools in the metropolis, she added.
