Bheri Hospital Assault: Health Workers Protest Demanding Security and Punishment to Culprits

Health workers at Bheri Hospital staged a protest against the assault on health workers by relatives of a patient, who died of COVID-19.

The Nursing Association of Nepal(NAN) protested in the hospital premises on Friday following the incident on Thursday, demanding action against the assaulters and security.

The patient was put on ventilator support after health complications.

The deceased’s son and brothers had assaulted Dr Chandra Prakash Sahu and nurses Asmini Gurung and Sadiksha Gaire, accusing them if negligence.

A probe committee has been formed under the coordination of Chief District Officer Shankar Bista to investigate the incident.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested three persons involved in the incident.

The main assaulter is said to be the UML party province member.
