July 13, 2019-Kathmandu: The festival of adventurous sports, Canyoning has concluded in Sundarijal of Kathmandu.

According to Rajendra Lama, the President of Nepal Canyoning Association(NCA), 65 people had participated in the sports with total 100 of them gathered at the venue.

“We organize the sports every year at different locations which fit the requirements. It is one of the most adventurous sports, gaining popularity in Nepal too,” added Lama.

“Nepal has the most suitable water falls and springs which can be used for the sports to attract more and more tourists.” he further explained.

Nepal Canyoning Association was established in Nepal in 2007 with tourism entrepreneur Tilak Lama as the founder President.

Unlike other festivals, the canyoning has a trend of not inviting higher personalities as guests for inauguration purpose.

The interested participants just start canyoning by moving down from a hanging rope, which is tied right on top of the waterfall.

Tourism entrepreneurs and youngsters were seen enjoying the sports.

Anyone can become the part of the festival, it’s open for all, says Lama.

The program was supported by Nepal Tourism Board.

Last year it was organized at Rani Jharna in Dhading district.
