Former Co-Chair of Bibeksheel Sajha Party Ujwal Thapa Passes Away

Founder of Bibeksheel campaign and former co-chair of Bibeksheel Sajha Party Ujwal Thapa has passed away, while undergoing treatment.
Thapa, aged 44, breathed his last on Tuesday at 4:25 pm, in Lalitpur based Mediciti hospital.

Though he had tested negative for COVID-19 on Monday, his health condition had turned much complicated and had been on ventilator.

His well-wishers across the country and abroad had been anxious about his deteriorating health condition and had been posting on social sites for his quick recovery.

He was one of pioneers, who started the campaign for alternative politics in Nepal.

A fund was setup to collect amount for his treatment expenses. And around 50 lakh rupees was collected and later on Monday, the drive was halted.

In 2013, he had contested the second Constituent Assembly elections from Kathmandu Constituency-5 and gained 1,163 votes. Also, he contested the 2017 general eelection and his votes had increased to 6,953.

His party had strongly supported Dr. Govinda KC’s campaign against wrong tendency in medical education sector. He had been raising voice against all the social evils in the society.
