Government Brings 1.64 Trillion Budget Through Ordinance, Less than 3 Percent for COVID-19 Treatment

The caretaker government has come with federal budget of 1.64 trillion for the next fiscal year 2021-22, through an ordinance.

Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel on Saturday, amid voices raised that the budget not to be brought through ordinance.

However, the government has allocated only Rs37.53 billion, less than 3 percent of the total budget, for COVID-19 protection.

The total budget allocated to the Health Ministry is Rs122.77 billion.

The salary for the civil servants has been increased by 2000 per month and the allowance for the senior citizens has been increased upto 4000.
