Government to Levy More Strict Measures in Kathmandu Valley

Government has announced to levy more strict measures in Kathmandu Valley.

The three district administration offices have decided on Tuesday to tighten the measures to curb the pandamic taking its toll across the country.

New orders issued will be effective from Thursday until May 12.

Vehicle passes issued earlier have been cancelled.

Shops selling food grain and groceries will be allowed to remain open only up to 9am in the morning.

More restrictions have been placed with the increase in the movement of pedestrians and vehicles on the road.

The country recorded its highest number of cases on Tuesday with 7,587 new cases and also the highest ever single-day toll with 55 deaths.

Of these Kathmandu Valley alone had more than half of the new cases with 3,893 in the past 24 hours.

Journalists have to show press passes issued by the Department of Information.
