The high-level committee formed to prevent and contain the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has recommended the government to continue with the lockdown.
The meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar drew the conclusion that the lockdown should not be lifted, with the growing number of COVID-19 cases.
The Prime Minister KP Oli had presided the meeting, which discussed measures in details with reports about health tensions from across the country.
However, it has not been revealed as how long the lockdown would be extended.
There had been clashes in Nepalgunj of Banke today morning, prior to curfew to be imposed in the evening.
Also, Karnali Province has been sealed for a week, as a measure to contain the pandemic, though no cases reported yet.
