\nCommunist leader Shashi Sherchan, popularly known as Swanaam Saathi has passed away.<\/p>\n
Sherchan who had been actively involved in the leftist movement since his youth days, breathed his last at Model hospital in Kathmandu on Friday evening.<\/p>\n
He had pneumonia and was also infected with covid-19.<\/p>\n
He was affiliated to Prachanda-led NCP.<\/p>\n
He is highly respected among the communist circles and outside for his simplicity and never went for any political appointments, though his party Remained in power many a times.<\/p>\n
He was very energetic until he was admitted in the hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
He is survived by his wife, whom he married in his later years.<\/p>\n
