\nWhen I was in my teens
\na friend of mine
\ngifted me
\na small bushy plant
\nwith 3 little blue flowers
\nBut very tiny
\nto know their features
\nI planted it in a coke bottle
\nwhich was cut half
\nand hanged it right near the door
\nwith a white strong string
\non a dry sturdy twig
\nI had erected against the wall
\ntied firmly with nails
\nAs I watered them regularly
\nWas happy to see
\nthe soily drops
\ndripping from the bottom
\non the cow-dung washed floor
\nAnd one fine morning
\nwhen I came out
\nYawning lazily
\nI was delighted to see
\nmany many blue dots
\ncovering the little bush !
\n‘Aama they have all bloomed,’
\nI shouted in joy
\nOur Sethe also barked
\nwagging his tail
\nto celebrate together
\nAs days passed
\nfew noticed them
\nbut nothing bothered
\nThey were glad
\nin their little world
\nAs warm and cool breeze blew
\nthey swayed gently
\nand stood firmly
\nwith their heads high
\nThere were roses, jasmines
\nshoe-flowers and sun flowers
\nin the courtyard
\nall in their pride
\nBut the tiny blue dots
\nwere my stars
\nin the dark green sky
\nlike a fiery gulmohar
\nand the giant banyan
\nMy dwarf morning glory
\nwere my favourite!<\/p>\n
