Indian media has stormed against Manisha Koirala, the Bollywood actress of Nepalese origin for backing a map endorsed by Nepal.
The hatred against the actress began following her reply on the tweet made by Nepal’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali regarding the Nepal’s map.
“Manisha Koirala backs Nepal map, claiming India’s Kalapani under its territory,” they have argued.
On May 18, the Nepal Cabinet had endorsed a new map of the country including Lipulekh, Kalapani, Limpiyadhura under the territories of Nepal; which the coward earlier rulers had failed to do so far.
“Thank you for keeping the dignity of our small nation..we all are looking forward for a peaceful and respectful dialogue between all three great nations now,” she had tweeted, sparking hatred against her.
Actually the latest development in the border issue had began in November 2019, when Indian government came up with a new map including Kalapani-Nepalese territory in their side.
There was widespread agitation against the Indian government move and Nepalese people took to streets in different cities.
Before the map issue could cool down, the Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh innaugurated a linking road to Tibet in China for Mansarovar pilgrimage via Nepalese soil in Lipulekh.
Thus, also during the lockdown the Nepalese youths took to street burning down effigies of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Also, the Nepalese Prime Minister KP Oli has expressed the hope that India will follow the path of truth, shown by ‘Satyameva Jayate’, which is mentioned in the Ashoka Chakra, the national symbol of India, amid his address in Parliament on May 19.
As far as Manisha Koirala is concerned, the Indian media are making a direct point that she being a Bollywood actress with her career in India and depending on their land for her sustainance should not back Nepal, though her own motherland.
Some analysts and thinkers dub it as funny as many Indians have moved to Europe and US, but always favour India in the question of nationality and is obvious.
Also, with the greatest tussle between the big brothers China and India for power and controversial border issues, India expects Nepal to back it instead of China.
But the most important part is that Nepal lies between both the big countries, with comparatively less interference from Chinese side.
Nepalese believe that neighboring countries should maintain the mutual understanding and move ahead in social harmony and cooperation, which is disturbed due to big brother or power tendency.
