Karnali Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, is all set to take a vote of confidence in Parliament.

The future of the government led by him will be decided by the voting to be held at 2 pm, this afternoon.

There are 12 MPs from Chief Minister Shahi’s party Maoist (Center) with total 39 members in Karnali Provincial Assembly.

A vote of confidence requires 20 MPs.

Chief Minister Shahi is busy gathering confidence for him and is in internal exercise for alliance as things are getting
adverse.

There are 6 Congress MPs, 1 RPP MP and 19 UML (excluding Speaker Raj Bahadur Shahi) in the state assembly.

Congress has initiated in filing motion of no confidence in Gandaki against chief minister Prithvi Subba Gurung on Thursday.

UML parliamentary party leader Yamlal Kandel had already filed a no confidence motion against Chief Minister Shahi back in September.

But the Madhav Kumar Nepal group MPs had come to his rescue and rejected the proposal on November 22.

Secret signature campaigns were held several times against Shahi, but had failed.

However, today is a most crucial day for Shahi as Oli’s favourite Yamlal Kadel has all his eyes on the Chief Minister’s chair.

Both sides are busy with their internal consultations.

The main support he can garner is from Congress and Madhav Kumar Nepal MPs.

And vice versa is the case of another camp.
