Motion of No Confidence Filed Against Gandaki Province Government

Nepali Congress along with Maoist (Centre) and Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal has filed motion of no confidence against Gandaki Province Government.

The total of 28 parliamentarians registered the same at the Province secretariat under the leadership of Congress Parliamentarian Party leader Krishna Chandra Nepali.

It carries the main signatures of other parliamentarians like the Maosit Parliamentarian Party Leader Hari Bahadur Chumaan and Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal’s parliamentarian Hari Sharan Aacharya and Congress Parliamentarian Kumar Khadka.

Following the twist the Gandaki Chief Minister Prithvi Subha Gurung has revealed that they would face the motion of no confidence.

Maoist (Centre) parliamentarian Rajkaji Gurung told the walker that they were preparing to raise Congress Parliamentarian Party leader Krishna Chandra Nepali as the new Chief Minister.

Fearing a no-confidence motion against him, Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Prithvi Subba Gurung had earlier prorogued the Provincial Assembly.

However, the letter of provincial chief Amik Sherchan saying that the provincial assembly had been prorogued from last night was forwarded only on Thursday as Wednesday was a public holiday on the occasion of Nepali New Year’s day.

In the 60-member assembly, the UML has 27 members, Congress 15, Maoist Centre 12, Rastriya Janamorcha 3, and the Janata Samajbadi Party has 2 members.

After the March 7 decision of the Supreme Court that revived CPN-UML and Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre), Gurung had the support of Rastriya Janamorcha.

But the Rastriya Janamorcha decided to withdraw support on Wednesday saying that Chief Minister Gurung had supported Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli when he decided to dissolve the House of Representatives.

The motion was signed by 15 parliamentarians of Nepali Congress, 11 of Maoist (Centre) and 2 of Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal, making it total 28.
