NCP (Prachanda-Madhav) Leaders Reach Election Commission

    NCP Leaders have reached Election Commission to submit the signatures of the central committee members.

    The senior leaders handed over the signatures of all the 297 central committee members to the chief election commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya on Friday afternoon.

    Though the procession which began from Maitighar Mandala, Thapathali involved senior leaders, central committee members and parliamentarians; only few were permitted entrance.

    With this the formal agitation of the party has begun and would be given continuity according to the leaders.

    The NCP executive chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’and another chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal along other senior party leaders had staged a sit-in protest before the election commission office.

    The corner meet was addressed by standing committee member and former tourism minister Yogesh Bhattarai.

    Bhattarai said the Poush 14 agitation would see more than a lakh demonstrators on the street, saying the country would get a new prime minister soon.

    Earlier, the executive party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ had said that they would go the election commission to inform that the majority of the central committee members were alive.
