The 19 membered CPN(UML) standing committee is without any women.

The names of the standing committee members was made public on Friday with the rising criticism about it’s all men list.

Just few days before the Party Chair KP Oli had made commitment that he would seriously look forward about 33 percent participation of women in all the party committees.

Different women groups and female leaders have raised their voices through social media and other means about the discrimination in a communist party.

The newly formed committee consists of senior leader and former Home Minister Bamdev Gautam who had been neutral so far and running his own campaign about party unification.

Also, three former Maoist leaders and present ministers of Oli government Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, Top Bahadur Raimajhi and Mani Thapa are also in the committee.

However another former Maoist leader Prabhu Shah has not been listed for the same.
