Oli Relieves Nepal Leaders of their Responsibilities in Party

Prime Minister and CPN-UML chair KP Sharma Oli has relieved Madhav Kumar Nepal group leaders of their responsibilities in the party.

Oli took the step on Friday after leaders close to Nepal had revealed to return back to the former UML party, after the shocking decision given by the supreme court reviving the two parties earlier then unity.

At a central committee meeting held at Baluwatar, Oli amended the party’s statute to accommodate leaders coming from other parties.

There by the Present Cabinet Ministers who have departed themselves from Maoist Centre have been inducted in the central committee.

The ninth general convention of the UML held in 2014 had elected five vice-chairs, two deputy general secretaries and five secretaries.

Bidya Devi Bhandari, the incumbent President, Bamdev Gautam, Yubaraj Gyawali, Bhim Rawal, Asta Laxmi Shakya were vice-chairs, Ishwar Pokhrel was general secretary, Ghanashyam Bhusal and Bishnu Poudel were deputy general secretaries and Yogesh Bhattarai, Pradeep Gyawali, Bhim Acharya, Prithvi Subba Gurung and Gokarna Bista were secretaries.

Yubaraj Gyawali, Rawal, Shakya, Bhusal, Bhattarai, Acharya and Bista are close to Nepal and were not present in the meeting.

They have decided to continue with the struggle and remain within the party.
