Nepal Government has decided to shut schools for a month in urban areas in districts categorised as most affected of Covid-19.
The cabinet took the decision on Monday morning following the growing concern over children’s health issue as more and more children got infected.
However, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health had tussle over the closing of schools.
Earlier on Sunday, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Krishna Gopal Shrestha had given a controversial statement saying the children were more safe at school.
The Health Ministry had already declared 14 districts as most Covid-19 affected.
The restaurants and hotels are also directed to be shutdown after 8 pm.
