Scout Coordinators of Karnali Province Participate in Swearing in Ceremony

Scout coordinators of Karnali Province have taken oath in the swearing in ceremony.

Newly appointed coordinators participated in the program held in Surkhet, on Saturday.

The province patron of scout and Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi said that the scout as an institution should succeed in inculcating real affection towards the Nation among the citizens at the tender age.

“The youths need to love their Nation and then only nationalism is possible. Certain discipline and hard work should be taught and then only a prosperous and better society can be developed,” Shahi added.

He also took the forum to recall how his party then CPN(Maoist) had initiated to mention in the new constitution for a compulsory provision of physical training for citizens, saying they were accused of producing combatants.

He also expressed his dissatisfaction over no consultations made with him regarding selecting the names of the scout district coordinators.

Scout chief and Province Social Development Minister Dal Rawal recalled that the scout was limited to district headquarter schools during their childhood.

“Now the scout shall go to schools even in the remote villages and the children will get the opportunity to groom them as responsible citizens for social causes and there by create strong bonding among themselves.

Ram Prasad Thapaliya secretary of Karnali Province Sports Ministry said that with the swearing in ceremony the scout campaign has started in Karnali Province, saying the Covid-19 had hampered the Scout activities.

National Commissioner of Scout Lok Bahadur Bhandari said that scout is the way to inculcate early social habits and humanitarian values among children.

Bhandari said it also helps to develop confidence among the individuals.

Scouts has its existence in 196 countries across the world and was established in 1952 in Nepal.
