Sindhuli Jeep Accident: 4 Die Injuring 8 Others

At least four people died and 8 have been injured in a jeep accident in Sindhuli district.

The accident took place at Karam Danda of Sindhuli’s Kamalamai Municipality-7 on Tuesday afternoon at 3:50 according to Suresh Neupane, the Chief District Officer.

Locals Rudra Bahadur Thapa aged 65, Rita Ismaili aged 18, Durga Shrestha aged 19 and her two years old son Manish Shrestha died on the spot according to Neupane.

“Overload could be a reason as there were 12 people on board the jeep and one person jumped out of the jeep and saved himself,” he added.

The condition of the driver Bhoj Bikram Thapa is critical and Kavita Shrestha is critical and are undergoing treatment along with two others in Kathmandu.

Meanwhile others are receiving treatment in the district hospital.

The passenger jeep (Ba 17 Cha 1117), bound to Baskateri of Kamalamai-7 from Sindhuli Madi Bazar, fell some 40 meters off the road.

The accident took place just around 1 km ahead of reaching the destination.
