Chief Minister of Sudurpashchim Province Trilochan Bhatta has won the floor test, with the support of UML Nepal-Khanal faction.
CM Bhatta received 30 out of 51 votes, on Tuesday.
Though the UML had directed it’s lawmakers to vote against Bhatta, Nepal-Khanal faction votes proved to be conclusively significant in restoring his post.
Bhatta had 13 votes of his party and needed 27 to win the motion.
The 17 votes of dissident UML lawmakers aided him to hit the goal on Tuesday’s floor test, with merely 9 against him from the establishment side.
Nepali Congress didn’t participate as Bhatta’s victory was definite.
