The Supreme Court has given an interim order not to implement exporting stones and pebbles introduced in the annual budget plan for the new fiscal year.

A constitutional bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana and justices Deepak Kumar Karki, Mira Khadka, Hari Krishna Karki and Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha on Friday, issued an interim order in this regard.

The budget plan had come under uproaring criticism and bitter controversy, citing extortion of natural resources causing disaster in the Chure region.

Conservationists and people from different walks of life had directly asked for its withdrawing, saying budget deficit could not be balanced with natural calamities following the extortion.
