An oxygen plant is to be set up district hospital of Rukum West with the support of
former Minister for Home Affairs and CPN (Maoist Centre) standing committee member Janardan Sharma ‘Prabhakar’.
“We have already sent 29 oxygen cylinders to the district hospital as covid-19 takes it’s toll across the country and before it is late late for management,” Sharma informed.
Talking to thewalkeronline leader Sharma said that instead of doing all the last hour hustles, it’s wise to be ready to cope up with all the possible hurdles before hand.
“Health of the general public is above all and during this pandamic we need to get prepared with all the required medicine and instruments for treatment,” he said.
“More oxygen cylinders will be added to the stock, this is not enough and the machine to flow 40 litres of oxygen in one minute time has been sent,” he added.
“Almost all preparation have been done and as soon as the copper pipes arrive, we shall call the technicians from Surkhet and the fitting will be done, putting the last stone of completion,” said Raj Kumar Sharma, Chairperson of district convenor committee.
“Covid-19 hospital of 8 beds has been already in function in the premises of the district hospital and the oxygen will be supplied through pipes to all the beds in the ward,” he told thewalker.
With the begining of the pandamic the local governments had built covid-19 hospitals and isolations wards.
Also, more one hundred beds in Chaurjahari hospital and 50 beds in the district hospital are suppose to be added soon.
So far, three people have died of Coronavirus in Rukum West and 228 have been traced with the infection.
The covid-19 cases are soaring across the country with terrifying situation in the neighboring country India, where people are losing their life due to lack of oxygen supply.
