Communist Leader Swanaam Saathi Passes Away

Communist leader Shashi Sherchan, popularly known as Swanaam Saathi has passed away.

Sherchan who had been actively involved in the leftist movement since his youth days, breathed his last at Model hospital in Kathmandu on Friday evening.

He had pneumonia and was also infected with covid-19.

He was affiliated to Prachanda-led NCP.

He is highly respected among the communist circles and outside for his simplicity and never went for any political appointments, though his party Remained in power many a times.

He was very energetic until he was admitted in the hospital for treatment.

He is survived by his wife, whom he married in his later years.

Born in a Thakali community, he always worked in favour of the proletarian mass.
